AMERICASMART VIGNETTE

Interior Design

I was selected to be one of 6 designers creating an vignette for a design exhibit at one of the US’ biggest design events - AmericasMart. The theme that was given to me was “Earthed”; I was tasked to design a space using products from the brands being represented there within this concept. I developed a space based on both Japanese and Belgian design elements - two design cultures that celebrate natural materials in their purest form.

Instead of curtains, I designed sheer panels reminiscent of the washi paper partitions in Japanese spaces. The sculptural cherry blossoms branches placed on the coffee table were another nod to this design reference.

The space as a whole was made up of a mix of textures and tones, with a focus on balance just to create a sense of harmony.
