La Latina Loft

Interior Design.

Located in a 17th Century building, this loft has historical characteristics that cannot be reproduced. Already designed with a modern layout and look, I wanted to create a serene ambiance. With a lot of dark woods in the floors and beams, the palette was kept mostly white with a variety of textures - linens, sheepskins, cottons and bamboo silk. I looked for pieces that have either a Japanese or Scandinavian sense of simplicity.

The low profile coffee table was chosen both for its rich nero marquina top as well as its low profile. The vintage armchairs in the living room were designed by Bernt Petersen, a Danish mid-century designer. In the living room, I chose the bell pendant by Norm Copenhagen because it mimics a bell, which felt relevant to the high, church like ceilings.
