This project was undertaken to complete a partial renovation of a family home. Having already started the renovation process, the family had many old pieces of furniture that they wanted to replace and some design needs that had to be met. More closet space was created by means of white built-ins that fade into the background instead of crowding up the physical and visual space. The kitchen was completed by creating a second area to store dishes, along with a bar area with a wine fridge.
The choice of furniture was meant to help highlight some of the antiques the family owned while bringing in a contemporary Scandinavian look that they also gravitated towards. The first task was to put in lighter floors to brighten up the space as well as the heavier wooden furniture. Then shades of gray were chosen to help pick up the other tones in the antique rugs and artwork.
